Creative Arts

Each day the art easel or art table is available for the children to learn to begin to recognize colors and shapes, experiment with different media, practice eye-hand coordination and finger-thumb movements, become aware of spatial relationships, practice patterning, discover different textures, begin to gain an understanding of perception, observe the changes they can make in their finished product and appropriately respond to praise.

Dramatic play is enabled by areas in each classroom with dress-up clothes, utensils and equipment to exercise the imagination. These are not gender specific and are culturally diverse in order for the children to pretend and experience the world through play and puppets.
